Cake anyone? Cake delivered to your door? Thought so, who wouldn't want a surprise cake delivered through their letterbox? This is the idea behind Baker Days Letterbox Cakes, instead of sending someone flowers for a special occasion you can now send cake.
As the cake hadn't gone through the letterbox I felt oblidged to drop it from letterbox height to test the impact protection of the packaging. I'm pleased to say it didn't fall at this hurdle - I still had an intact cake. The cake is very cleverly attached to a card disc via a 'skirt' of icing, so it stays put inside the very nice presention tin.
It is a very small, but very cute cake (I've taken a picture of me holding it to give an idea of scale) we managed to cut it to 8 small, but satisfactory slices, to divide it up between the family. My husband and I could have easily polished it off between us in one sitting though! It was a very nice tasting cake - its small size meant a very good icing to sponge ratio.
I love the fact that the cake can be personalised. For this one I chose an existing picture and wrote my own text, but I could have put a photo into the design if I had wanted. There is a huge range of designs for all occasions - birthdays, new babies, even teacher thank you cakes.
At £14.99 its not a cheap way to buy cake, but its a lot cheaper than sending flowers and a lot nicer than just a card.
Disclaimer: Baker's Days sent me a valentine's cake for the purposes of this review. Opinions are, as always, my own.

What a brilliant idea, will have to take a look at their website. Thanks for the review,
